She could be insecure or jealous. maybe you should focus your attention on both girls instead of one, the old girl could possibly be feeling rejected in some way. dont stop talking to the old girl, im sure things will sort out eventualy but keep the conversation friendly... if you like the old girl and you are hurt by her saying u wil never be more than friends than just keep it to urself for now, if things dont straighten out between you, ull kno she was never worth it. however you need to think about how much both of these girls mean to you and if u like the old girl then try and keep the peace between you too, be understanding about her being "busy" and she may just find that she misses you and wants your texts and long talks back. hope things go well for you :)
