Girls? Should I bother?

Okay so long story short, this guy and I have been talking for a few weeks. He asked me for my number, we've kissed but that's about it. He will send me text messages that he really wants to see me and looks forward to seeing me etc. but i'm kind of sketchy. This weekend we tried to hang out but he told me he was sick which I believed but he kind of left me hanging one night. I can't really tell if this guy is into me or if he's just looking for an easy lay. We don't talk too much cept for usually in the evening, exchanging hellos, how are yous. When we do hang out he's totally sweet and gentleman like. I'm supposed to see him tonight but nothings set in stone. Do I go all out and get all done up? Or do I just play it cool and go with the flow? I am kind of into this guy but I don't want to get my hopes up especially if I can't tell if it's worth trying.
