98 Subaru Outback overheating?

My 98 Subaru Legacy Outback 2.5 -no turbo- is overheating in cold weather-not super hot, just 2/3 hot. I have had the engine rebuilt and don't suspect head gaskets? They already blew. It only heats up after 30 miles or so of highway driving and the heater doesn't get real warm now. The collant levels are adjusting normally and when I pull over to idle, she only takes 5 minutes or so to cool down. Made it across country fine this summer with a load, why now that it is cold is the car overheating? Are the radiator and hoses easy to change by myself and where to find parts?

Check the cam belt timing marks. It sounds like you're off a couple teeth. You don't have 4 camshafts, it's a SOHC, one cam per cylinder head. If some how a DOHC motor was modified to fit you will have more problems like the wrong ECU, the wrong wiring harness etc.

My father's will leaves everything to his new wife, and her will divides up the remaining money between her kids and my siblings and me when she dies. The problem is she's free to change her will after he dies. Is there a way to solve this problem? I think the wife is entitled to the money when my dad dies, but if she changes her will before she dies, she can leave all the remaining money to her own children. Do you think this was negligent of my midwife?

I'm not the type to sue or anything but I was taking my blood pressures and got high readings. Then I'd go in they'd tell me to lay down before they checked it and they got normal 110/70 type readings. The thing was I was getting 150/100 on my own and what was realized when I was put in the hospital is that it was pregnancy induced hypertension and me sitting up or standing it would shoot up to 150/100. If I got up to use the bathroom the bottom number would get close to 110. This had gone on probably 3 weeks before being admitted to hospital bed rest (and I am very active day to day) then being induced early a few days later. I was concerned about my blood pressures and I feel they overlooked them because they didn't want me to have to deliver in a hospital. Neither did I but I think had they listened to me, referred me to an OB and I went on blood pressure meds and bed rest when it first started I could have carried longer. My baby was only 6 weeks premature and perfectly healthy but what if something happened? I would have blamed them. Am I wrong for feeling this way?

I can only speak for myself, and I certainly would not want to be kept alive that way. I want "quality" of life, not "quantity". If I get old, and can't eat and take care of myself, I have told my children to not postpone my death. I've never used any skin care line set except for a Mary Kay one that I got as a Christmas gift once. It made me break out on my checks and nose and I hardly ever break out at all, so I quit using it and wound up giving it away to my Mom since none of the Mary Kay stuff causes her any skin problems. So now I'm back to square one, only using St. Ives apricot scrub occionaly and that's it as far as my skin care regimen goes. If I notice that I have super dry skin, I'll put on a little pure unscented Vaseline on my face or some Eucerin cream as these don't cause me to break out. I'm really worried about getting deep wrinkles later on in life though. My main issues with skin are dryness and I also have pretty sensitive skin. I already have some fine lines on my cheeks, not so much around my eyes, the lines are obvious only on my cheeks but only when I smile. What skin care line do you use to keep your skin looking great? Should I move away from life?

I was working a 9-5 job for about a year and very suddenly my father ped away at age 45. This has disturbed my life in great detail as it was very unexpected. I have 2 little 1/2 brothers that had to move to Whistler, BC to be with their mom (my ex stepmother). I was very unhappy with life so I decided to get a change of pace and I moved to Whistler to be with my brothers and also try and move on from my father's death. I lived in Whistler and loved it for about 6 months. I was then offered an amazing job with the company I left to first move to Whistler. I thought this is what I wanted so I packed up and moved home. I now find myself in this rut again. So should I just give up on this amazing job and move away again or should I try and stick it out. I had a lot of people push for me to get this position and I feel really bad if i just give up 2 months in but at the same time is it really worth me being unhappy?

Question about sunburn....?

i have been swimming for 3 days straight and because of that i have a sunburn. it's only on my face though. it doesn't really hurt anymore, it just looks bad. my face is peeling around my nose and i have what looks like a wrinkled line on my forehead and on my cheek. when i wrinkle my nose, my hole face looks wrinkly. its so ugly and im only 13:( is there anything i can do to make my sunburn turn into a tan and make the wrinkle go away? its not a severe burn. i'm just a little red.

What do you do when my nieces are verbally abused by a girl my sister took in who is homeless and pregneat?

My sister took in a girl.. One nightmare, after another with my sis. She has 5 children -has had problems with the health of 2 children which have been serious. Insurance Limit Question?

Okay, l will try to make this short. I was in a car accident in October 2008, my car was totaled and it was not my fault. Since the accident I have had one xray, two CAT scans, five MRIs, three cervical injections, one EMG, a discogram and been in physical therapy for 7 months three times a week. Originally I was told from the MRI, I had one herniation in my neck, three bulging discs in my neck and one bulging disc in my lower back, a back sprain, painful muscles spasms, and nerve damages in my arms, hands and left leg. During the discogram (which is very painful but soooo beneficial) it was discovered I have three very bad herinations just in my neck (not mentioning that one in my back, laying on my nerve) that are beyond repair. In conclusion, I will have to have a three level disc fusion in order to repair and even then will never be back to normal I have been told I have been through h*ll because of this accident. My airway punctured and filled with blood during the last procedure causing my to have trouble breathing and chest pain that I am still having! I can barely function at times. I am 29 years old with three children. I used to be active, loved to cook and garden. I am barely able to get off the couch. It is depressing. My 12 year old daughter recently said, "you are different person now, I miss the old you, mommy". It killed me to hear that. I was also ped up for a big promotion at work and my prior boss was trying to get rid of me because he felt my injuries were "hampering my job ability". The lady who caused the accident is 78, she seemed very nice and appears to be a all around good person, ie pillar in her community, organizes various charities, and is very involved in Church. She actually reminds me of someone VERY dear to me. If her auto limits don't cover all of my expenses, will they be able to obtain money from her home insurance instead of her directly? I don't know how this works and I don't want anything to come from her directly meaning I don't want any of her savings or her to lose her home over this. I don't want this to financially crippled her and her family. I wouldn't be able to do that and sleep at night. If her limits are too low, I won't go through with the surgery as I cannot afford to be stuck with the cost either. Has anyone been in a similar situation? My significant other says I am making it personal and she shouldn't have been driving. I agree, but it was an ACCIDENT, and I don't think an accident should cause someone to lose everything. Just an FYI, my medical expenses are already over $80K without the surgery and medical care afterward. Thanks everyone! I appreciate any opinions.

Damaged laptop while ethernet cable was plugged in, port is broken need advice?

I need help with this one please guys, the ethernet port and the other port next to it where damaged when my son tripped on the wire and it yanked the laptop. The internet went off and I turned it round to look at the back and was shocked to discover that the ethernet plug was broken and the divider that separates the 2ports had been broken and its now like one big hole. Peanut allergy?

I gave my son the waffles fries form chik-fil-a. I didn't realize that they are fired in peanut oil until later. He didn't have any kind of reaction or anything. So I was thinking of adding a cap full of peppermint extract or imitation coconut extract to my bath water and body scrubs, I just love the smell. Why is this not working?

I have to make a power point for my L.A. cl on the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I have an HP computer and it doesn't have 2007 power point on it. So I used my sisters computer which does. Its her school computer and Im not sure what brand. (And i know that is bad not to know) I think its like something like a CP in cursive? So yesterday I started my powerpoint and I put it on a flash drive to work on at school. And all the school computers are MAC. It wouldnt work and it didnt play any of the media I had. But when I tried it on my HP with the flash drive it played it on power point viewer. Why is this? Is it just becuase of the computer type? Will it work on a DELL?

Okay so my dad has always worn a baseball hat everywhere we go whatever we do (I mean except pictures) so I wouldnt think of asking him not to wear a hat at the wedding (he doesnt look like my dad with out one) So I was thinking of having him wear a Fedora or something of that nature to walk me down the aisle in. Why am i always tired?

I am a freshman in high school and i feel tired all the time. Im not sure what the problem is because Im getting plenty of exercise, I eat nutritious food and i never eat junk food, and i go to bed around 8 to 10 most of the time. But, I think one of the problems might be is that I'm getting too much exercise because i wake up at 6:30 every school day and workout from 7:30 to 8:15, and then after school i either have football or baseball practice (depending on the time of year) right after school until 6:30 or 7:30. Then when I get home I eat dinner, and do homework if i can stay awake. And this is beginning to affect my grades because i can't stay awake during cl, and i don't have any energy to take notes or even try. If you know why I am so tired and exhausted please let me know.

Yeah, cells constantly do recycle their membranes, so eventually those phospholipids will get used in vesicles or such. Also, i don't think changing the shape of a few phospholipids will affect it that much, unless the entire plasma membrane is in a different shape phosphlipid, which would screw up the fluidity of the membrane.

Our family dog had puppies several months ago and its been hell since. Since it was her first litter she didnt know how to take care of them. I have graduated from my sopre year in high school and will be a junior next year. To be honest my freshman year was not wonderful. My grades fluctuated throughout the year, but I remained an overall A/B student with few Cs. My sopre year I took my first AP course which I received a high A all year. I took all honors gifted courses along with the AP course and like my freshmen year my grades fluctuated. I was able to maintain relatively good grades all year until fourth quarter when I ended up getting five As and three Cs! For my junior year I will be taking four AP courses and the rest honors/gifted. Also I am taking Spanish so next year (junior) I will be Spanish three. My extra curricular activities include drama two and I hope varsity soccer if I am able to make the team. Also next year I plan on all As since I know it required of students wishing to attend an ivy league school. As a junior I will be applying for president of ecology and literary club. I also plan on applying for a few board positions such as Students Against Drunk Driving (S.A.D.D.), Astronomy club, and Student Advisory Comity (S.A.C) etc., but I know not to go over board. For my Senior I will be taking all A.P courses with the exception of my extra curricular, and if things work out I will be the President of two clubs and V.P or board of some others. Lastly I am currently a member of National Honors Society. -I hope this is enough information to determine if I am capable of getting into an ivy league school :) P.S If you have any tips and/or advise please let me know below.

How do I deal with a difficult attorney?

My client filed for divorce and this attorney is representing the opposing party and he is being a complete *** about it. My client who lives in another state is not requesting child support, is going to grant her ex visitation by his terms with their children and does not want spousal support (she said all she want is out of the marriage). I made the mistake of planting mixed "perennial garden" and "daisy garden" seed packs in an area that I cleared out this winter. Most weeds (I think) I have been able to identify, and I am faithfully watering and caring for the remaining plants. Parking brake on Toro riding mower seems stuck in on position. Mower starts but will not move.?

It's an automatic. Traction belt is very loose and won't tighten when brake is released (attempted). Release lever for pushing does nothing. Parking brake lever seems to function and lever releases when brake is pushed, but doesn't really release. Should traction belt be tight at all times or is it supposed to loosen when brake is on? This was the first attempt to use mower after winter. I heard there was a brake release lever somewhere at the rear of the machine but can't find it. The model is 71227, serial 220010001.

Really cheap options in Waikiki would be hostels such as the Polynesian Hostel Beach Club (recommended by Lonely Planet) and Hostelling International Waikiki (also recommended by L.P.) at $25/night or less. How do I make a horizontal elevated cement or concrete surface supported by cement blocks on 3 sides?

First, plan on 6" thick and not 4". Get some 3/4" construction grade plywood and build a fully supported layer even with the top of the blocks. Use 2x4s and concrete blocks under the plywood to allow temporary support every 12" using shims to hold the plywood level and flat. Use 2x8 side perimeter boards supported level from below and braced to hold the weight. The 2x8s will be positioned so that 6" is the slab depth and the 1-1/4" remainder overlaps the the outside of the blocks all the way around. On the open side, firmly support under the plywood to the 2x8 to hold the weight. You will use concrete steel mesh to support the concrete and you'll want to make sure that you lift it as you pour so that it is 3" off the bottom, (dead center). As for heat, burn your coals on a low grate and not directly on the concrete.

For starters I'm a little confused too :) I think that he wants to try and be a father and part of your family but he is unsure of his relationship with you. Perhaps accepting his doubt and coming to terms with it is a solution. Don't demand black & white answers. He seems to be a very down to earth and pragmatic person. If he is willing to try and you are too, then go for it. In the end it's pure honesty because no one knows how relationships end up or evolve. So you have to move forward even though it is uncertain. Be appreciative of his efforts and involvement. He seems ready to be a good father, but if it is a lover you are looking for, perhaps you need to look somewhere else or perhaps in time your love for each other will grow. Can you keep 2 male turtles together?

I have two male turtles. They have been raised together since they were babies. They are now 9 years old. One is a Red Ear Slider and the other is a Western Painted Turtle. They were my brothers and he has given them to me, I got a 275 gal pond for them and it is kept inmy house. The problem is that the little one which is the painted turtle keeps biting on the big ones neck. I have seperated them, I put a divider plastic fence in between them that they could see each other but couldn't cross. They get really depressed and won't leave the fence. Does anyone else have a husband with an out-of-control running or exercise habit?

I need some advice. I have been married for 15 yrs. and have 3 children. During my first pregnancy, my husband began running. Just prior to the delivery of our first child, he ran his first marathon. After that, he was hooked. As the years ped, our family increased by 2 more children, and his running habits also increased. At this point he has run countless marathons, 2 50-mile races, and is set to run a 100-mile ultra marathon in October. He runs every day, including holidays (yes, Christmas included) and steps up his running during vacations (family or otherwise). I feel that running has taken over his life to the point where all his other interests no longer matter (he used to surf, skateboard, play football, dirt bike, etc.) Worst of all, I feel I come in second to this running addiction. (He claims he's not addicted, whatever). I have become resentful of the time/energy he puts into running and we have had many fights over the years about him cutting back. He has tried to get me interested in running, but I hate it and would never be able to keep up w/him anyway. He has told me to find a hobby of my own, if I did find a hobby I took to that degree, we would for all purposes be leading separate lives. Our marriage is good in all other areas, but I don't know if I can spend the rest of my life as a neglected cheerleader to his great pion. I want him to be as enthusiastic about spending time with me as he is about running. What can I do?

Sometimes, you will see a break in house training during the time that the dog is teething. Your dog is teething now. You need to restrict his freedom in the house tho=rough the use of a leash and baby gates. How long does this dog have to sit by the door before someone notices that he needs to go outside? So some of this can be a human training issue too. If he's wetting in his crate you may need to have him vet checked for a urinary tract infection. Hitting him won't work. All that does is to train him to avoid your hands.

With all of the race focus against white people, why do we continue to largely ignore the other side?

I think it's because white folks from the burbs aren't as effected by it. Growing up a poor white boy born on the other side of the tracks I grew up in a neighborhood that was racially diverse so I had to deal with reverse racism from day one. I had to pull myself up by my bootstraps on my own. Most white people are so insulated in the burbs this kind of thing doesn't bother them. I think academic istance should NEVER EVER be based on race, it should be based in income. Is it fair for a minority from a well to do family to get more financial help then a white person who was born in raised in a trailer park? Hell no. The time has come for everyone to clean up their own backyard before knocking on their neighbors door. Everyone should be called on their racist attitudes regardless of race. When a white father tells his offspring he doesn't want them dating outside their race, he is branded a racist. If a Asian father does the same thing society condones it because he is preserving his culture.

I'm playing madden ultimate team on my xbox and my offensive players, usually a half back or wide reciever, gets put on defense. It was funny at first but since my cedric benson, adrian peterson and randy moss cards have gotten injured on defense, its not so funny any more. Does anyone know how to change it?

Help with burning songs onto a CD!?

I cut this song, and now it won't burn onto a CD. I don't know why its doing this! I've tried every program i have including itunes and musicmatch. The uncut version burnt onto a CD, it's only the cut version. What do i need to do to get it to burn?

Why is my fuel pump fuse blowing?

I have a 97 Grand Prix GTP and for my fuel pump fuse keeps blowing. I just paid $75 to have my car towed and had a diagnostics test run on it and the problem was that the fuel pump fuse blew. We put a new one in and it started right up. Tonight it blew again and when I put a new one in, it started right up again. I made it home but I'm afraid its gonna blow again. The mechanic said he looked the whole car over and couldn't find a reason for it blowing. The only thing I can possibly think of is the fact that I got my subs and amp hooked up 2 weeks ago. It never did this before I had it hooked up so it makes me think that has something to do with it. When I turn the power to my stereo off it makes this loud b sound. Does anyone know why the fuse keeps blowing? Do I need to unhook my amp? And should I make the guy that hooked it up come back out and fix it? I called him and he said the amp has nothing to do with the fuel pump fuse so I don't know if I'll be able to get him to come out?

you'll be fine...not everyones gonna get along with their roomates...its only an year. atleast give it a chance...you've never met her. be yourself and the best advice i can give you is don't fight over small things if worst comes to worst. some of my friends had roomates that they never talked to and it wasn't the end of the world.

I have no personality of my own?

My friends have started to notice that I don't have my own personality. I just emulate different people from time to time. I currently listen to a lot of hip hop, dress in boyish clothes, have cut my hair short and am joking more... exactly like my newest best friend. Hmmmmmmm............. seems this may be a common occurrence. A Somalian family who moved around the corner from me suddenly were driving round in a newish car. You are right to avoid chlorine bleach, but how about oxygen bleach, like OxiClean? Try soaking the clothes in a very hot water solution with 2x or great amount OxiClean than recommended. I've used 4x for some real stained items without problems. Leave the clothes in the soak for at least 12 hours. Initially swish them around while the water is hot to make certain all parts get treated.

How do I get the crankcase cover off a Craftsman 4.5hp lawnmower engine?

I've drained the oil and removed the bolts (of course) and the cover came off the gasket, but wont move more than about 1.5 inches off the blade shaft. I pull really hard but it just stops suddenly like it wasn't meant to be removed. I can't see anything that would hold it on there. Help?

I have a 3 month old baby girl, she was 2 months early, so her corrected age is really 1 month but she's more like a 2 month old with regards to development. Anyways, she just will not have naps. Today she was awake from 10am-5pm and was very fussy, screamed in the end for about 1 1/2 hours. I've tried gripe water and ovol for colic, and those don't work. She did this yesterday too, and then slept for about 5 hours. Then she was awake again from 3am-7am (although that time she was just making happy noises in her crib) The doctor said to let her just cry herself to sleep but I don't have the heart, I will try for 15-20 min and she just doesn't calm down. Can anyone help?? I am going crazy.

have you heard about the new gps sneakers? i was thinking, the government should inject offenders with gps chips so their movements can be monitored. if a child went missing the offenders who were in the area could be checked on. they could make sure they don't go near school and they wouldn't be able to move and live unregistered in an unknowing community. there has been tons of research that suggests pedophiles cannot be cured and will always want to reoffend. so i think if they were constantly being monitored the chance of reoffending would be extremely low. about their rights, i think the inncoent children and people of the united states have the right ro be protected from them. these chips cold be considered protection for them too so they couldn't be falsely charged for a crime they didn't commit and they would be very apprehensive to reoffend and knowing that that is not an option more of them may reach out for psychological help (such as counseling). what do you think?

Racism against "mexicans"?

I am 16, persian-american, and attend a 95% white dominated publich high school in Northern VA (very rich-dominant white folks). I dont go a day without hearing racism against so called "mexicans" every single day. I sympathize very much for South Americans as well as all other immigrants, because I at least have the knowledge and posess the maturity to realize that these are people that want to better their lives, just as my parents did when they left Iran, and just as all other Americans' ancestors did. Why is it, then, that the highest cles of society, the rich white people, posess so much anger and hatred towards "mexicans"?? They are a very large workforce to the US economy, and have every right to retain their cultures within the US. Why are these whites so headstrong and stubborn; the clical American xenophobiac?? I not only hear racism from the kids in my school, but from these kids' PARENTS as well; its everywhere. Whats going on here?

How do you convert an excel workbook onto powerpoint?

In Power Point, click on the "Insert" menu and then choose "Object". You can select from either "Create New" or "From File". If the Excel workbook is already created, choose "From File". Use the browse on and find where you saved your workbook and click on it. If you check the "Link" option then the Excel data in Power Point will update whenever the original Excel doent does (the files need to stay in the same loactions for this to work or you need to keep the locations updated). How can I wash the smell of mage oil out of cotton shirts? Regular detergent and Oxy Clean didn't do it.

It's a base oil with scented essential oils added to it. The scent is gone, but the greasy "restaurant kitchen" smell of the base oil remains in the shirts. Ugh!
